How can we make honeycomb chocolate squares vegan?
As a vegan brand, we do not make products with honey in it (it’s for bees, not for us!). However, it does not mean that vegans can’t eat those delicacies in the same way as non-vegans. All we have to do is:
Replace honey with either maple syrup or golden syrup (higher sugar content)
In a saucepan, pour the vegan butter, golden syrup, and vegan chocolate and stir until they melt.
Tip: You can use Vitalite as the vegan butter. The golden syrup is important to keep the sugar from crystallising.
To get it all crunchy, add them to a dish of crushed digestives and ballers from Doisy & Dam mix once they've melted.
The next step would be to add the honeycomb and honeycomb buttons. You can either prepare the honeycomb at home or purchase our favourite Push Chocolate honeycomb buttons.
Fun fact: The honeycomb contains no honey or comb!
Press the dough into a tin.
Melt the vegan chocolate and pour it onto the top.
You can add more honeycomb buttons if you’d like.
Store in an airtight container and let it set in the freezer for 1 hour.
